UPDATE: This report may have been issued by Ukrainian intelligence, and spread to regional news outlets but has not been confirmed.
The Russian Air Force in May moved a large concentration of long-range strategic bombers to Olanya air base in Murmansk, on the Barents Sea, in northern Russia. This development came after Ukrainian drone attacks were successful in destroying aircraft stationed in southern Russia.
As of May 15, 2024, the images reveal a notable presence: 12 Tu-95MS strategic bombers, 13 Tu-22M3 strategic bombers, one Tu-160, and two An-12 military transport aircraft, reported BulgarianMilitary.com.
Now reports are claiming Ukraine has successfully hit this northern airfield in the Russian Federation.
