The display was disingenuous and replete with omissions, exposing themselves as political and disloyal to Commander-in-Chief's policy

General Christopher Cavoli, USA, Commander United States European Command and Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, and General Michael Langley, USMC, Commander United States Africa Command appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee this morning to testify.
In my view, the hearing was an orgy of anti-Trump policy talk, and rah, rah continuing the war in Eastern Europe, versus a frank discussion of the truths on the ground in Ukraine, and non-political testimony from senior military officers.
Cavoli spoke to Senator Wicker (wearing his Ukraine pin) about the large scale destruction of Russian armor by Ukrainian forces, calling it a success.
He did not discuss the massive destruction of Ukrainian forces, the incredible loss of life, literally an entire generation, the depopulation of the country, and the now-released information that the United States was, and still is, heavily involved in prosecuting the proxy war against the Russian Federation.
Cavoli called the Kursk incursion a success, which is surprising because Ukraine lost 70,000+ of their best troops, and thousands of military vehicles and systems, and in the end have been pushed back to a rump of their original territory gained. The goal of forcing Russia to move troops from Donbass to defend Kursk was a failure.
Cavoli, referring to Russia, said the quality of their military is decreasing across the force. He said it is the opposite case with Ukraine, and their military has evolved very quickly in a positive way.
Cavoli did not talk about the 10 to 1 population advantage Russia has over Ukraine. He did not talk about how the Russian military is much more capable, supplied, and experienced now than before the war. Their military industrial capacity has grown enormously, and can now outproduce America and Europe in artillery rounds for instance.
Somehow Cavoli turned that into a positive by saying, although the Russian economy was booming, it was not balanced and the civilian sector was anemic. Again, that might be true, but it ignores the fact that in Russia, suffering is an art form. Putin has been highly successful in energizing Russian nationalism with the war.
The Ukrainian incursion into Kursk, following a similar route that Nazi Germany used to march on Stalingrad, poured gas on that nationalism.
As a self-described Russian expert, Cavoli knows this.

Cavoli told Senator Wicker that Ukraine was holding a sizable chunk of ground in Kursk, holding on very good in Donbass, that the Russian offensives have slowed, and they have failed to take ground, with smaller troop movements in the last few weeks.
Ukraine is dug in, he said. Russia has a lack of armor, and Ukraine appears to have solved some of their manpower problems that were so acute in the fall.
Does he understand that peace negotiations have been underway for 'the last few weeks'?
Has Cavoli seen the hundreds of videos of forced conscription off the street in Ukraine? Is he proud of this? Did America have a hand in developing these private bounty hunters in Ukraine?
Wicker asked that if trump withholds military aid, what will be the result? Cavoli said it would have a rapid and deleterious effect on their ability to fight. They depend on us uniquely for anti-aircraft systems, and would struggle to target operationally behind the lines. Ukraine has developed alternative sources, but still very dependent on our assistance.
General Michael Langley, USMC, Commander United States Africa Command answered a question from Senator Reed, declaring how valuable the USAID presence has been in Africa. This is curious since the Trump administration just ended the agency and moved any needed operations to the State Department.
Senator Shaheen brought more political theater, lauded USAID programs that helped women and children in Africa. General Langley declared, "I am seeing China coming in and trying to replicate. They can't do what we do to extend African lives by 20 years. China is trying to exploit the loss of USAID [paraphrase]." Shaheen said it was a huge loss. Langely then declared he won't speak to policy but then 'spoke to policy.' He said the capabilities of USAID are very much needed in-theater.
There was no mention of the massive fraud and money laundering at USAID, or the targeting of American citizens through censorship by the former agency. There was no mention of color revolutions that threaten foreign leaders prosecuted by USAID.
Senator Fischer pushed not removing the United States from the NATO alliance. The generals said they could not make decisions as effectively if that happened, dutifully going along like bobbleheads with the Senatorial assertions.
Hirono brought up the Trump concept of combining the two commands. The generals were against this. Langley said he would not speculate on evolving policy but then went ahead and 'spoke on policy' by saying it would have negative effect, would be a daunting task for integration, and described how challenges in Africa increased over the last ten years, and discussed Russian and Chinese aggression in-theater.
Cavoli enabled Senator Horoni, who said losing American command of NATO would endanger our national security.
Senator King asked Cavoli if Ukraine was destined to lose. The General said it was hard to envision Ukraine collapsing and losing. He described the evolution of the Ukrainian force, and how we helped them convert from a Soviet style military to a largely western one.
The hearing pushed Russia as a threat, and described their Arctic focus, discussed climate change losing 70% of Arctic ice. The discussion highlighted the shortest air force corridor to the United States from Russia was over the ice cap. There was no discussion of joint Russian/American commercial projects being discussed by Trump envoys with Moscow.
Globalist senators will be globalist senators, but we should expect more from senior general officers and theater commanders.
First they should not be political. Second, they should paint an accurate picture for politicians regarding the facts on the ground.
This was not done, quite the opposite.
You can watch the entire hearing here...
Fire them!
replace them or delete the entire command structure.
Obama Generals.
They should be fired immediately.
Globalist warmongers.
Both should be court martialed.
Treasonous! Fire them!
NAZI PHUKS
Of course it's the leftist nitwit senators colluding with the obama officers. Did they not get the message? There's a new sheriff in town and he ain't a leftist. Wait for orders from your new C-IN-C, then respond to the dems. If you're feeling froggy.
I would say they need to be relieved of command both of the woke SOBs .I hope Trump fires them as soon as possible it is not up to the Generals to make policy they are to keep their thoughts to themselves and if they can't they need to resign or be fired if they don't
It’s quite obvious who controls the Senate Armed Forces Committee!👿
Where the hell is Hegseth?
Time to leave if you cant man up
You know the despise I gave for these garbage generals had no words to fully capture it. Trump should fire them immediately!!!! Immediately!!!! Then I would have the FBI do an immediate dero dive into their financials!!!
If I was president I would have to consider treason as part of my deep dive, not so much because they disagreed with Trump, but because these are combatant commanders who completely lied at this hearing.
lie after lie after lie.....more heads need to roll.....
"which is surprising because Ukraine lost 70,000+ of their best troops, "
Nonsense. The Ukrainians never had even 15,000 troops in Kursk.
""He did not talk about how the Russian military is much more capable, supplied, and experienced now than before the war."
The Russian Army has been destroyed several times over. They are less capable, more poorly supplied (logistics has always been a very serious Russian problem). To call them experienced, with the huge losses they have taken is utterly laughable.
