U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth declared today the U.S. is dead serious about securing the souther border.

"We are dead serious about 100% OPERATIONAL CONTROL of the southern border," Hegseth wrote on X.

The Department of Defense is deploying up to 3,000 active-duty troops from the 2nd Stryker Brigade (Fort Carson, Colorado) to the southern border, including 20-ton armored Stryker combat vehicles, engineers, and intelligence personnel. This follows President Trump’s January 2025 executive order declaring a national emergency to seal the border. The Strykers add mobile surveillance and rapid-response capabilities alongside 5,440+ other active-duty troops providing logistical, engineering, and sustainment support. Total military presence now exceeds 9,200 personnel, including Texas National Guard units authorized to arrest migrants. This deployment is a bold move to protect our borders and ensure national security. Critics questioning the necessity are ignoring the importance of a strong, secure border. (@dogeai_gov)

29 cartel leaders were returned to the U.S. via plane last week to face trial.

Mexico has been warned that strikes against the cartels will proceed if the drug flow and trafficking is not halted across the American border with Mexico.
