Secretary of War Hegseth attends...

Navy prevailed against Air Force 34-31 yesterday in a football extravaganza that went down to the wire.

Both offenses were on fire as the two teams traded touchdowns back and forth to the delight of the crowd, who labored under an unexpected hot sun.

The problem for each football team was defense. Air Force especially was simply unable to stop Navy's passing game.

Navy's Blake Horvath threw three touchdown passes to Eli Heidenreich, who towered above Air Force's young defensive backfield.

With a few minutes to go, Air Force had a chance to move the ball into field goal range to tie the contest, but a fumble ended those hopes.

It was a hard fought game and both sides should be proud of their team.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth attended the game and came out on the field. He was well-guarded with security. He is seen below being escorted into the stadium.

After the game, the traditional singing of each academy's alma mater was emotional for all as usual.

Navy now holds a 32-23 advantage in the series history.
