After skipping the Munich Security Conference, and meeting with NATO leaders in Brussels, SecDef Pete Hegseth couldn't have been more clear on the way forward in Ukraine - peace, not endless war.
The U.S. sees Ukraine restoring its 2014 borders as unrealistic.
The U.S. also does not consider Ukraine's accession to NATO a realistic outcome.
There will be no U.S. forces in Ukraine.


Hegseth is saying there can be no peace in Ukraine. Allowing Russia to keep any land it has stolen will not end the war, it will merely pause it.
It was not smart for the US to meddle into the former USSR and to make unrealistic promises that resulted in current war. nobody cared about Ukraine or any other part of the USSR until its collapse and Americans used to call Soviets Russians more often than Soviets...
