For decades we frittered around the margins - real changes are now happening

Secretary Hegseth made a big announcement at DOD on cutting $5.1B of superfluous contracts. I worked this area closely when I was in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
The more “help” we had from contracts like this, the slower we moved.
I know some who are being personally affected by these cuts. Some of them are right minded, superstars. I feel bad for these individuals.
However in the aggregate, we must do this to unleash the full potential of DOD and the whole U.S. Government. These decisions release immense resources that can be redirected to building deterrence and lethality. DEI also hides within the nooks and crannies of these massive program areas.
The cancelled IT contracts are as follows:
A Defense Health Agency contract for consulting services from Accenture, Deloitte, Booz Allen, and other firms, which the Defense Secretary said will save the Pentagon $1.8 billion
An Air Force contract with Accenture to re-sell third party Enterprise Cloud IT Services, saving the department $1.4 billion Hegseth said
A Navy contract for business process consulting services for administrative offices worth $500 million
A DARPA contract for IT Helpdesk Services, worth another $500 million, according to Hegseth
At the end of the memo, Hegseth calls for the termination of 11 additional contracts across the Pentagon related to consulting services that “support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Climate, Covid-19 response, and non-essential activities.”
MAGA, MAGA, MAGA is the only path forward to save our Republic and return the capsized DOD to being the premier Department of Defense in the Universe.
