We have to innovate and think differently to beat the Chinese

President Trump has made it clear that America will go to the Sea in Ships again. The greatest economic might in the world should have the greatest presence on the world’s rivers, coasts, and oceans. Right now, America is the largest economy in the world. Yet, it has the smallest oceanic presence in merchant ships, and the U.S. Navy is withering in the face of a hyper-accelerating Chinese Naval growth. America makes some of the world’s best river and coastal craft; these can be the foundation for an American maritime renaissance in the oceans.
The pathway forward is advanced manufacturing, laser welding, 3D Printing, robotic assembly, autonomy, and artificial intelligence applied to the design and manufacturing of ocean vessels and platforms.
Former Fed Chair and former Biden Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said of President Trump’s tariffs, “Perhaps it’s to bring back American manufacturing, but I really think that’s a pipe dream and not something that is likely to be accomplished. We could even raise questions about whether or not, in a broad-based way, that’s a desirable goal.”
Professor Yellen, who has probably never made anything in her life, including an IKEA bookcase, has been wrong about everything she’s advocated for: de-industrialization, trade deficits, open borders, population replacement, etc. Yellen and the Globalists couldn’t care less about America and would rather send your money overseas than ensure America has a strong economy.
