A beautiful moment of a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet passing near the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz and in close proximity to the helicopter filming.

The aircraft's passage is accompanied by Prandtl-Glauert phenomena (condensation of atmospheric moisture behind an object moving at transonic speeds) and subsequent breaking of the sound barrier.

These images were taken recently in the South China Sea, where the USS Nimitz carrier strike group is making its presence known.
