Over half-century old legacy relocates to reshape the Army's future.

Today marks the inactivation of an Army unit with over half a century in creating warfighters. The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) is responsible for recruitment, ROTC programs, basic combat training, tabbed and badged schools, online courses, and branch-specific centers of excellence to provide the Army with qualified, lethal warfighters.

TRADOC’s mission appears to be reconsolidated from Fort Eustis, VA and merged with the the Army Futures Command in Austin, TX as the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command. It remains to be seen how TRADOC’s closure will impact the soldiers and civilians entrusted to train future leaders in a growing era of global conflict or how the existing structure will reshape in the coming months.
