Interagency coordination to defeat domestic drone attacks
U.S. wargaming exercises using Fort Bliss, TX and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI in March as simulated targets explored drone deterrence and defense. These scenarios sparked the involvement of over 30 state and federal agencies, which also triggers many complex jurisdictional complications.
Last month, Ukraine reportedly smuggled hundreds of drone into Russia, destroying 20-40 aircraft across five air bases. A heavy loss for Russia and a reminder for America that base defense against drone threats needs to be a priority. We don’t want another Chinese air balloon floating across the country with impunity.
