CENTCOM said it conducted a "wave of strikes" against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, targeting air defense systems, radar, ships, mine laying assets and communications. The action came after the IRGC continued to attempt to attack commercial ships and U.S. forces, CENTCOM said.

CENTCOM announced in a post on X that over 50,000 U.S. service members are currently deployed across West Asia and that "50,000 plus U.S. service members are still deployed in the region and remain vigilant, lethal, and prepared to continue executing operations directed by the Commander in Chief."

In response to the US strike, Iran launched a significant ballistic missile operation at the US Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, specifically targeting hangars where RQ-4 Global Hawk and MQ-9 Reaper drones are based. IRNA reported that several pilots and flight crew members were killed in the attack. US officials have so far failed to comment on the number of casualties among the personnel serving at the airbase.

Iranian forces, according to IRNA reports, targeted the U.S. base of Sheikh Isa in Bahrain by launching "heavy volleys of destructive drones" to destroy the maintenance and repair facilities of helicopters, parts and equipment of drones, and reconnaissance aircraft of the enemy. Iranian missiles were also fired at the U.S. Marine base of Camp Titin in Jordan.

Iran Foreign Ministry asserts that U.S. military force hit a home in Kuhestak, Sirik district of Hormozgan Province's, during a wedding celebration of local residents. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said more than 50 civilians were either killed or wounded in the incident. However, the CENTCOM has so far refrained from commenting on the allegation. The local official, Hormozgan Province's deputy governor Ahmad Nafisi, said 2 people were killed and over 20 others were wounded in the incident.

Global oil prices rose sharply following the US strikes, with Brent crude topping $95 a barrel for November delivery while West Texas Intermediate reached $91.10 a barrel for October delivery – its highest levels in weeks.

President Trump told Fox News in a phone call that US forces attacked Iranian radar targets and would continue to take out more Iranian targets if they continued to attack commercial ships. Trump added on social media that he is calling on the Iranian people to "rise up and fight" against the Iranian regime. "Iranian regime is just playing out the inevitable," Trump said. "Their economy is totally collapsing."

That was to be a one-month period of reduced action between the two military forces and in which the U.S. commanders hoped to open up new channels of diplomacy with Iran.
