Iran’s armed forces, including IRGC, have been put on their highest level of military alert, Code 100, intelligence sources from the region reported Sunday night. Code 100 is activated by a military commander when he believes an attack is imminent.
Meanwhile, President Trump cut his Camp David weekend short and returned to the White House on Marine One late Sunday evening. He landed on the Ellipse at around 8 p.m. EDT. No reason for his early return was given by the White House.
The war will end soon, US President Trump said on Sunday. Turkey and its allies are offering the US and Iran alternative ways to bring about a peaceful resolution of the conflict, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Sunday. However, strong distrust exists between Iran and the US, and this is why the active diplomatic channel has not yet borne any fruit, he added.
Tim Burchett (R-TN) wrote about the situation on Sunday. The U.S. stopped Iran from getting a nuclear weapon which could have been used to attack Israel or another country. “Instead of Armageddon, we stopped that in its tracks,” he wrote.
The President has traveled to New York City this week for the United Nations General Assembly meeting and will outline why a nuclear armed Iran is never acceptable – under any circumstances.
