President Trump in Palm Beach, FL, along with Secretary of War Hegseth, Secretary of State Rubio, and Secretary of the Navy Phelan announced the initiative to build new 'battleships' for the U.S. Navy. These ships will be large, and heavily armed said POTUS.

Trump disclosed the country will start building two of the vessels, but move to as many as 25 as fast as possible.

U.S. Navy Secretary John Phelan -- "The future Trump-Class Battleship, the USS DEFIANT, will be the largest, deadliest, and most versatile, and best-looking warship anywhere on the world’s oceans. Now, when a conflict arises, you’re going to ask not one, but two questions: Where are the carriers and where are the battleships?"

Trump said -- "The battleships are going to be armed just in terms of guns and missiles at the highest level. They’ll also have hypersonic weapons, state of the art electric railguns, and even the high-powered lasers that you’ve been starting to read about. Once completed these 30 to 40,000 ton plus vessels will be the flagships of the American Naval Fleet. There has never been anything built like them.
We’re going to start almost immediately, we are probably talking about 2.5 years.

"New Golden Fleet. We’re calling it The Golden Fleet. And we’re building for the United States Navy.  As you know, we’re desperately in need of ships. Our ships are, some of them have gotten old and tired and obsolete.

"We’re also building right now three large aircraft carriers. We’re also building super duper subs."
