CORRECTION: We initially wrote that Charlie Kirk was on the USAFA AOG Board of Directors. That was an oversight. It should have read the USAFA Board of Visitors and has been corrected.

In a flagrant display of insubordinate Marxist ideology, the U.S. Air Force Academy terrazzo was overun last Friday with hundreds of females from a USAFA affinity group for women that literally threatened the Secretary of War during the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Apparently up to 500 women showed up for the event which was reportedly sponsored by the Academy and USAFA AOG.

AFP has been told scores of women marched in front of Mitchell Hall Cafeteria, some with signs derogatory to the Department of War leadership, with quotes like, "No matter what SecDef says". SecDef refers to the previous designation for the Secretary of War, an obvious slur, and in our view, a threat to DOW leadership.

AFP has received multiple phone calls from women who attended the event, describing open insubordination to DOW leadership, Marxist ideological slogans and propaganda, and calls for getting rid of 'Old White Men' on the USAFA Association of Graduates Board of Directors.

We are told former USAFA Superintendent Lt Gen Michelle Johnson (USAF, Ret) led an event where witnesses claim that at a gathering of USAFA women in a Polaris Hotel ballroom shortly before a memorial ceremony, Lt Gen Johnson spoke to the crowd denigrating and advocating opposing certain AFA AOG Directors whom she claimed were making the AOG “political," reported one source.

The 'political' nature of USAFA started years ago with Department of Athletics 'Black Lives Matter' video.

"Further, a female AFA grad has informed me that this former female AFA Superintendent stated to her that this former Superintendent has been advising the current AOG Board Chair on how to handle these [newly elected] AOG Directors, whom the former Superintendent allegedly characterized as “old white guys." reported one source.

I wrote about Lt Gen Michelle Johnson's Academy when I returned for my 30th reunion almost ten years ago.

The United States Air Force Academy Doesn’t Train Warriors Anymore

At the time, my article focused on the complete lack of discipline and war-fighter training I observed at the Academy during my reunion, which had disintegrated into worship of NCAA sports and new building construction, including a Dunkin Donuts in Fairchild Hall.

This type of manipulative behavior does not belong at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

"The danger with affinity groups is their tendency to become exclusive cliques.  These groups are subcultural and chip away at the unity and cohesion of an overall culture--in this case, men and women in the armed services who chose to attend a Service Academy to serve their Nation," said Colonel Ron Scott (USAF, Ret) and President of STARRS.us, to AFP.

For those of you who think the use of the word 'threat' is over the top -- the incident is especially troubling as Charlie Kirk was assassinated while a member of the USAFA Board of Visitors. To use the phrase 'no matter what' in conjunction with the Secretary of War can obviously be viewed as threatening.

We have reached out the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Department of War, the U.S. Air Force, and the USAFA AOG for comment and will post when received.

The U.S. Air Force Academy provided this statement. The apparent lack of urgency and concern from Academy leadership is deafening.

“The U.S. Air Force Academy conducted a scheduled alumni open house this past weekend. This standard program has been in operation since 1969 and followed the normal reunion format for registered participants. Attendees were granted routine and authorized access to the cadet area as part of the scheduled itinerary.

During the open house, a small number of alumni apparently briefly displayed a sign on the Terrazzo. The Academy only became aware of the sign after the event had concluded. The Academy is not aware of any marching, visual displays, or demonstrations during the event. No disturbance was reported.

The Academy strictly enforces all executive orders and Department of the Air Force guidance. The commemorative events in question occurred off base at the Hotel Polaris. An independent alumni nonprofit organization organized and funded these activities. The Academy had no official participation in these events and did not act as a host or sponsor.”

The USAFA AOG provided this statement:

The Association of Graduates of the U.S. Air Force Academy exists to support the Academy, serve graduates and preserve the heritage of the institution and the Long Blue Line. The 50th Anniversary Commemoration Weekend, occurring April 23-26, marked a milestone in Academy history: the 1976 integration of women following the presidential signing of Public Law 94-106.

During the weekend, graduates and family members gathered in a variety of ways to reflect on shared experiences and commemorate Long Blue Line history. USAFA Women, an independent non-profit organization and active alumni affinity group, planned and hosted an event at venues in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Association of Graduates co-hosted a dinner with the USAFA Women organization at Hotel Polaris, along with a welcome reception and heritage trail tours at Doolittle Hall. Additionally, the Academy hosted an open house under standard reunion protocols. A complete list of events and venues can be accessed here.

The Articles of Incorporation for the Association of Graduates prohibit the AOG and its affiliates from supporting or opposing any political idea, organization or candidate. We adhere to these governing documents and require all affiliates, including alumni affinity groups, to do the same. Our affinity group guidelines require that these groups remain “wholly in line with the mission, goals, policies and objectives of USAFA and the Association & Foundation.”

Accordingly, any political displays or statements made by individuals during the Academy’s open house, or at any point, were inconsistent with the expectations for the commemoration events. These displays and statements did not reflect the expressed intent of the weekend or the spirit of the events, which were designed to bring graduates together around shared experiences of service and sacrifice.

The Association of Graduates is proud to support engagement efforts consistent with our mission and our commitment to serving the nearly 57,000 USAFA graduates spanning seven decades and preserving the enduring heritage that connects generations of the Long Blue Line.
