The morning after the 2020 election was stolen was a seminal moment in my life. I remember it very clearly -- the emotions, the feeling of betrayal, the determination to fix my country's problems.
However, last night I listened to Tucker Carlson's interview with Scott Horton, a journalist who conducted a deep dive into the reasons for the recent decade's forever wars.
Something changed inside me after listening last night.
I separated from the United States Air Force in 1994, after graduating from USAFA, and flying special operations helicopters.
The Gulf War was my era, my colleagues, my generation. It defined who we were as a military force.
Last night, I learned the entire justification for The Gulf War was fake.
I remember thinking back then that something was off about George H. W. Bush's -- "This will not stand..." -- but I put it aside, and loved my country, trusted its leaders.
I knew personally many of the heroes of that war. Many of them died.
The honor, courage and sacrifice they exuded will not be matched.

To find out the justification for the war was fake, literally knocked me off my foundation. My entire world view, although it had been slowly changing, was kicked off its stand.
I can't imagine the pain and mental anguish those involved in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars experience when finding out the justification for those wars was fake as well, or that of the families who lost loved ones.
I am no longer the same person. I have evolved. I can never go back.
My God, what we could have done with the trillions of dollars, and the lives lost?
I am angry.
Our country is sick, and run by criminals.
Now, unfortunately, Trump (whom I have trusted) wants to possibly bomb Iran again, and fund the continued killing in Ukraine.
Was that trust misplaced? The jury is still out on that one.
But fortunately, as the English playwright said, 'The pen is mightier than the sword,' for we have a republic to save.

As the Florida punk band said a decade before desert Storm: "Welcome to the real world!"

The war was not fake. The danger of weapons of mass destruction was not needed to justify renewed hostilities. Iraq had signed a cease fire after being pushed out of Kuwait. They violated it by firing on US aircraft patrolling the no-fly zone and expelling weapons inspectors required under the cease fire terms. That alone justified resumption of hostilities.
You are ignoring the content of the Horton interview.
And everything Jeffrey Sachs details which is exactly what Horton is saying.
I'm sure there are many others who signed on to serve our country who are now questioning their role in our governments forever wars. Your service is still appreciated by many. Thank You 🙏
I had a buddy in the 4th I.D., 588th Engineers, that was in Iraq during the 1st Gulf War. They did find one cache of weapons of mass destruction - chemical. However they were told to dispose of them. Why? The ones that they found had markings to show they had been bought from the good ol' USA.
Welcome to the military-industrial complex matrix, where power and money are the only priorities. Like Neo, you took the red pill and are now full awake. Now, like Neo, you have choices to make. By now, you should be fully aware of the dangers that actions against it can bring, so what do we do? Honest question.

Remember that April Glaspie, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, talked with Saddam Hussein the week before he invaded Kuwait. She left him with the impression that the U.S. had no objection to his invasion. This was diplomatic malpractice by an affirmative action appointment!
I MOST LIKELY WILL ONLY VOTE IN LOCAL ELECTIONS FROM NOW ON SINCE IT SEEMS SENSLESS TO VOTE FOR ANYTHING HIGHER. THE CORRUPTION IN THE POLITICAS OF OUR NATION IS SO DEEP AND EVIL IT'S IT'S DOWN RIGHT FRIGHTENING. I FEEL THAT OUR COUNTRY IS SLIPPING AWAY INTO A TIME OF DARKNESS AND RUIN. BUT WE HAVE TO BE LIKE OUR FORE FATHERS AND OUR MINUTE MEN BRETHREN READY TO DEFEND WHATS RIGHT AND GOOD IN THE WORLD AGAINST ALL EVIL.
Were Vietnam or Korean wars justified? Lots of lives and money lost for little. Both Iraq and Afghanistan were failures. It's not just corruption is the reason by idiotic minds and mindsets of millions who live in artificial not real world.
